Okay, so I’ve been meaning to upgrade my smartwatch game for a while now. I’ve had my old one for, like, forever, and it’s starting to show its age. After doing some digging around, I decided to check out the Garmin Venu series. But then came the dilemma: Venu 2 or Venu 3s? Both looked pretty sweet, but I needed to figure out which one was the right fit for me.
So, I started my journey by hitting up the internet, you know, the usual review sites, YouTube videos, and all that jazz. I wanted to see what real people were saying about these two watches. I watched a bunch of videos of folks unboxing them, trying them on, and testing out different features. It was cool to see the watches in action, but I still couldn’t make up my mind just from watching others.
Diving Deeper into Specs
Next, I dove deep into the specs. I compared everything side-by-side: battery life, screen size, fitness tracking features, the whole nine yards. The Venu 3s seemed a bit more compact, which I liked, but the Venu 2 had a slightly bigger screen. Battery life seemed pretty similar between the two. Both had a ton of fitness features, so that wasn’t helping me narrow it down either.
Getting My Hands on Them
At this point, I realized I needed to get my hands on these bad boys. I headed to a local store that had both models on display. First, I tried on the Venu 2. It felt okay, a little big on my wrist, maybe. Then I strapped on the Venu 3s. The size was definitely more my style, it just felt more comfortable and I loved the color options.
I played around with the menus, checked out the watch faces, and even pretended to start a workout just to see how it felt. The Venu 3s felt better, and I started to really like the interface. But the Venu 2’s bigger screen was tempting for reading notifications and all that.
Trying Them Out for Real
Now, this was the tricky part. I knew I needed to actually use these watches in my daily life to make a proper decision. So I asked the guys at the store, and they were surprisingly cool about it. They let me take them for a test drive. I wore each watch for a few days, doing my regular thing – workouts, work, just everyday stuff.
Wearing the Venu 2, I realized the size wasn’t as much of an issue as I thought. It was still comfortable, and the larger screen was actually pretty useful. But then, when I switched to the Venu 3s, I found myself appreciating the smaller size more. It felt less bulky, especially during workouts. The screen was still big enough to see everything I needed.
The Verdict
After a week of testing, I finally made my decision. I went with the Garmin Venu 3s. The smaller size won me over. It was just more comfortable for all-day wear, and it didn’t feel like it was getting in the way during workouts. Plus, I liked the look of it better on my wrist, and I also love the color choices. It is a little more expensive, but the small changes did it for me.
Don’t get me wrong, the Venu 2 is a great watch too. If you prefer a larger screen, you might like it better. But for me, the Venu 3s was the perfect combination of size, features, and comfort. So that’s my story of how I ended up with a new Garmin Venu 3s. It took some time, but I’m really happy with my choice.
- Tip for anyone else: Try them on, if you can. The size and feel on your wrist are important.
- Another thing: Think about what you’ll mostly use it for. I wanted something good for both workouts and everyday life, and the 3s fit that bill for me.
Hope this helps someone else out there who’s also stuck between these two watches. They are both great, but the differences are in the details.
