Cyberpunk PS5 Pro Wishlist: What We Want to See in an Enhanced Version of this game!

Okay, let’s talk about this whole “Cyberpunk 2077 on PS5 Pro” thing. I’ve been messing around with it, and here’s the lowdown on what I did and what happened.

First off, I grabbed my PS5 and made sure it was all up to date. You know, the usual system software updates and all that jazz. Gotta have the latest stuff, right? Then I popped in my copy of Cyberpunk 2077. I know, I know, it’s had a rough start, but I’m one of those suckers who’s still kinda into it.

Next, I started fiddling with the game’s settings. I went into the options menu and started looking at the graphics stuff. I wanted to see what this supposed “Pro” mode was all about. There are usually two modes in most games now: one that’s all about pretty graphics and another that’s about keeping the game running smoothly.

Performance Mode

  • Dynamic 4K resolution.
  • Targeted 60 FPS.
  • Some visual effects and crowd density reductions to maintain a stable framerate.

Ray Tracing Mode

  • Dynamic 4K resolution.
  • Targeted 30 FPS.
  • Ray-traced shadows, reflections, and ambient occlusion for more realistic lighting.

So, I tried out both of them. In “Performance” mode, the game felt super smooth. It was like, buttery smooth. Moving around Night City was a breeze. But yeah, it didn’t look quite as fancy. In “Ray Tracing” mode the game got a graphical boost, especially in terms of lighting and shadows and reflections and all that. The city looked more alive, more real. But, of course, it wasn’t as smooth. It was a bit choppier, you know?

After messing around with those settings, I decided to just play the game. I spent hours cruising around Night City, doing missions, getting into trouble. The usual Cyberpunk stuff.

What did I learn from all this? Well, this so-called “Pro” mode is basically just picking between better graphics or smoother gameplay. There’s no magic button that makes everything perfect. It’s about what you prefer. Me? I ended up sticking with the Performance mode most of the time. I like my games to feel responsive, even if it means sacrificing some of the eye candy. It will enhance the immersion of my game.

So, yeah, that’s my experience with Cyberpunk 2077 on the PS5 in these different modes. It’s nothing groundbreaking, but it’s good to know what your options are. Just remember to update your stuff, mess with the settings, and see what works best for you.
