Okay, so I recently got my hands on the eufy S340 camera, and I was pretty curious about its battery life, especially since it’s marketed as having a pretty long-lasting one. I’ve been playing around with it for a while now, and here’s what I’ve experienced so far.
Setting it Up
First things first, I charged the camera fully. It took a bit, but I wanted to start with a full battery to really test it out. Once it was juiced up, I mounted it outside my house – pretty straightforward process, I must say.
Initial Usage
Initially, I was pretty aggressive with the settings. I cranked up the resolution to the max, enabled all the motion detection features, and basically set it to record everything. I wanted to see how it would hold up under heavy use.
Battery Drain – Round 1
- After about a week with all the bells and whistles turned on, I noticed the battery had dropped significantly. It was down to about 60%, which, honestly, wasn’t bad considering how much I was pushing it.
Adjusting the Settings
I decided to tweak things a bit. I lowered the resolution slightly, adjusted the motion detection sensitivity to avoid recording every single leaf that blew by, and changed the recording length to shorter clips.
Battery Drain – Round 2
- With these more moderate settings, the battery life improved dramatically. After another week, it was only down to around 80%. Much better!
Long-Term Testing
I’ve continued to use the camera with these adjusted settings. I check in on the battery level every few days, and it’s been holding up really well. I’m getting a much longer lifespan than I did initially, which is awesome. I estimate for almost one month usage per time.
My overall feeling
In my opinion, My personal experience is that I’m really satisfied with my s340 camera, especially the battery part.
So, based on my little experiment, the eufy S340’s battery life is pretty impressive, especially if you’re not going overboard with the settings. It definitely lives up to the hype, as long as you’re a little mindful of how you use it.
