Okay, so I’ve been messing around with smartwatches lately, specifically the Amazfit GTR Mini and the GTR 3. I wanted to see which one was better for me, so I got both and started wearing them.
First Impressions
The first thing I did was unbox them. The GTR Mini is, well, mini. It’s smaller and lighter than the GTR 3. The GTR 3 has a bigger screen, which I thought I’d like, but it also felt a bit bulkier on my wrist.
Wearing Them Around
I started wearing both watches, one on each wrist, to get a feel for them. Honestly, after a few days, I almost forgot I was wearing the GTR Mini. It’s that comfortable. The GTR 3, on the other hand, was always noticeable. Not in a bad way, but I was always aware it was there.
Playing with Features
Next, I dug into the features. Both watches have your basic stuff: step tracking, heart rate monitoring, sleep tracking, and a bunch of workout modes. They both seemed pretty accurate with the step counting, and the heart rate stuff matched up pretty closely with my old fitness tracker.
- Sleep Tracking: Both did a decent job tracking my sleep, but I think the GTR Mini was a little more accurate. It seemed to catch when I woke up in the middle of the night better.
- Workout Modes: Both have tons of workout modes. Seriously, everything from walking to swimming to… I don’t even know what half of these are.
- Battery Life: This is where the GTR Mini really shines. I was getting like a week and a half on a single charge! The GTR 3 was more like 4-5 days, which isn’t bad, but the Mini is just crazy good.
Checking Out the Apps
Both watches use the Zepp app, which is… okay. It’s not the prettiest app, but it gets the job done. You can see all your stats, change watch faces, and mess with settings. Nothing too exciting here, it works pretty much the same for both watches.
My Final Thoughts
So, after wearing both watches for a while, I decided to stick with the GTR Mini. The longer battery life and the more comfortable fit were the biggest factors for me. The GTR 3 is a good watch, especially if you want that bigger screen, but the Mini just felt better for everyday use. It’s simple, it works, and I don’t have to charge it every few days. That’s a win in my book.
