Okay, so everyone’s always asking about the “easiest” GE classes, right? Like, we all want that GPA boost without, you know, actually dying from work. So, I decided to do some digging and, well, experiment a little. Here’s how it went down:
Phase 1: The Rumor Mill
First, I hit up all my friends, upperclassmen, anyone who would listen. I asked around for the legendary “easy A” classes. I got a bunch of names tossed around, some I’d heard of, some totally new. I made a big, messy list.
Phase 2: Rate My Professors is Your Friend
Next, I spent hours on Rate My Professors. Seriously, this website is a lifesaver. I looked up every single class on my list. I wasn’t just looking for “easy” ratings, though. I wanted to see why people thought they were easy. Was it the professor? The workload? The grading scale? All that good stuff.
- Some classes had tons of reviews saying “take this if you want an easy A!” – those went to the top of my list.
- Some had mixed reviews – “easy if you do the reading,” or “easy if you go to class.” Those went in the maybe pile.
- Some were just straight-up nightmares, even if someone had said they were easy. Hard pass.
Phase 3: The Great Registration Scramble
Registration day is always a bloodbath. I had my top choices, my backup choices, and my backup-backup choices. I logged in the second registration opened, fingers crossed. I managed to snag a couple of the classes that looked promising from my research.
Phase 4: Trial and Error (aka, Actually Taking the Classes)
This is where the real “experiment” began. I went to the first few weeks of each class, got a feel for the professor, the syllabus, and the other students.
And, there is a class which really impress me during these weeks, which is called “Intro to Sleeping”.The prof was super chill, the lectures were basically just watching movies, and the only assignments were like, one-page reflections. It was pretty much a guaranteed A, as long as you showed up and didn’t, you know, fall asleep during the movie (ironic, I know).
Phase 5: The Results (and Some Regrets)
So, after a semester of strategic slacking (just kidding… mostly), how did it go? Some classes that get high score in Rate My Professors were indeed pretty easy. Others, not so much.
My biggest takeaway? “Easy” is subjective. What one person finds easy, another might find super boring or confusing. It really depends on your learning style and what you’re interested in. But hey, at least my GPA thanks me for the effort!
