Get a Privacy Screen iPhone 16: Stop Visual Hacking Now, Very Easy!

Okay, so I’ve been seeing a lot of buzz about the iPhone 16 and this whole “privacy screen” thing. I wanted to see what the fuss was about, and if it was actually something I needed. I started by just messing around on my current phone, you know, checking out how easy it is to see stuff from the side.

My Little Experiment

First, I grabbed my old iPhone. I opened up a bright, text-heavy website, nothing fancy. Then, I started tilting it, looking at it from different angles. Honestly, it was pretty easy to read, even from a sharp angle. Definitely not private!

Next, I went down a rabbit hole, googling different screen protectors. I saw a bunch of ads, and to be honest, they all looked pretty much the same.

I ended up picking one that seemed… fine. It had decent reviews, wasn’t crazy expensive, and promised “privacy.” So, I ordered it.

When it arrived, it was the usual deal: a little cleaning cloth, the protector itself, and some instructions. Installation was, well, it’s always a bit fiddly, right? I always end up with a tiny bubble or two. I did my best, though, cleaned the screen like crazy, and carefully stuck it on.

The Result?

Okay, after all that… did it work? Yes! It actually did a pretty good job. When I looked at the phone straight on, everything was clear. But when I tilted it, the screen got dark really fast. It was like magic! You’d have to be practically glued to my shoulder to see what I was doing.

Downsides? A couple of small things. The screen is slightly dimmer overall, even looking straight at it. Not a huge deal, but noticeable. And, well, sometimes I want to show someone something on my screen, and I have to tilt it just right. Minor inconveniences, really.

So, in the end, my little privacy screen experiment was a success. I don’t know if the iPhone 16’s built-in tech will be better, worse, or the same, but for now, I’m feeling a bit more secure about using my phone in public.
