Okay, so I’ve been wanting to make my own phone case for a while, you know, something unique. I finally decided to give it a shot and make a basic, plain one first – a “base phone case,” if you will. Here’s how it went down:
Gathering Supplies
First things first, I needed supplies. I didn’t want to get anything fancy, just the basics to start.
- A plain, clear phone case: I got a cheap one, figuring I might mess it up.
- Some strong glue: Something that would hold up over time.
- Some decorationsI found some paper, some stickers, some dried flowers.
The Messy Part (aka Gluing)
I found a simple and clear phone case, and choose the dried flowers as my decorations.I put my phone on a piece of paper, trace the outline and then cut the paper according to the size of the phone case.I carefully stick the cut paper to the inside of the phone case.
Then came the tricky part – arranging the dried flowers. I played around with them for a bit, trying different layouts until I found one I liked. Once I was happy, I started gluing them down, one by one. It was slow going, and I definitely got glue on my fingers (and maybe the table…oops!).
The Waiting Game
After everything was glued, I had to, well, wait. I left the case to dry completely overnight. It was tough, ’cause I was excited to see the finished product, but I knew rushing it would be a disaster.
The Big Reveal
The next morning, the glue was dry, and my base phone case was ready! It was simple, sure, but it was mine. It felt good to have made something with my own two hands, even if it wasn’t perfect.
It’s not going to win any awards, but it’s a start! I’m already thinking about what I want to try next – maybe some glitter, or some cool fabric scraps. This whole DIY thing is pretty addictive!
