Okay, so today I decided to tackle the “big name in PCs” clue from the NYT Mini Crossword. I’ve been doing the Mini every day for a while now, and I like to think I’m getting pretty good, but sometimes those clues can be real stumpers.
First thing I did was stare at the clue for a good minute. “Big name in PCs”… My mind immediately went to, like, the actual components inside a computer. You know, like Intel or AMD. But the answer only had three letters, so those were out.
Then I thought about brands. HP? Too short. DELL? Ding, ding, ding! That’s four letters, fit perfectly.
I typed it in, and boom, got it right. It is feel good to use my brain!
