Okay, so I’ve been having this super annoying issue with my phone calls lately – poor call quality. It’s been driving me nuts! Everything was fine, and then bam, every call sounded like I was talking through a tin can tied to a string. So, I decided to get to the bottom of it. Here’s the whole saga:
Troubleshooting Time
First thing I did was the classic reboot. You know, turn it off and on again. Sometimes that magically fixes everything, right? No dice. Still sounded terrible.
Next, I checked my signal strength. Maybe I was just in a dead zone? Nope, full bars. Hmm…
Then, I started messing with the settings. I went into the phone app and poked around. I made sure the “noise reduction” or whatever it’s called was turned on. I toggled it off and on just for good measure. Still sounded like garbage.
- Checked the volume made sure the volume rocker was up.
- Checked to see, If I was on speakerphone.
- Checked to see If the microphone hole was clogged.
I even cleaned out the little microphone hole at the bottom of my phone with a tiny pin (carefully!). I thought maybe some pocket lint was messing things up. Nope, still awful.
Getting a Little More Serious
At this point, I was getting frustrated. So, I tried calling a different person. Maybe it was just their phone? Nope, same problem. Ugh.
I went to a different area. I was getting desperate, figured it might have to do with cell towers. Still bad.
Finally, A Solution!
After lots of experiments, finally, I stumbled on a potential solution. Turns out, in my area, turning off the advanced calling features in the Settings>Cellular Data Option. That solved the problem. I guess the signal strength in my area wasn’t optimized for HD quality phone calls after all.
So, yeah, that’s my story of battling poor call quality. It was a pain, but I finally figured it out. Hopefully, this helps someone else out there who’s pulling their hair out over crummy-sounding phone calls!
