Okay, so the other day, I wanted to chill and watch something on HBO Max, but it just wouldn’t work. I have AT&T, and apparently, that’s a whole thing. Here’s how I finally got it sorted:
First, I tried the obvious. I restarted my device – my smart TV. Nope, still nothing. Just a spinning wheel of doom.
Then, I checked my internet connection. Everything else was working fine – Netflix, YouTube, you name it. So, it wasn’t my Wi-Fi.
Troubleshooting Time
Next, I dug around on my AT&T account online. I wanted to make sure my HBO Max subscription was actually active. It looked good, all paid up and everything.
I remembered reading somewhere about logging out and back into the HBO Max app. Seemed simple enough. I found the sign-out option, clicked it, and then signed back in using my AT&T credentials. Still no luck! It was super frustrating.
Time to get serious. I decided to uninstall the HBO Max app completely. I went into my TV’s app settings, found HBO Max, and hit “uninstall.” Then, I reinstalled it from the app store.
I opened the freshly installed app, crossed my fingers, and…BAM! It worked! I have no idea why uninstalling and reinstalling did the trick, but it did. Maybe some weird glitch got cleared out.
- Restart device.
- Check the Internet.
- Verify the active of account.
- Log out and log in.
- Uninstall and reinstall the app.
So, if your HBO Max is being a pain with AT&T, try these steps. Hopefully, you won’t have to go through all the hassle I did!
