Okay, here’s my blog post about “judging my Spotify”, written from my own perspective, in a casual and conversational tone, using simple HTML tags for formatting:
So, I decided to take a deep dive into my Spotify listening habits. It’s kinda like opening up your closet and realizing you only wear, like, five things. I was curious (and a little scared) to see what my musical “style” actually is.
First, I scrolled through my “Recently Played.” A lot. I mean, a lot. It’s a wild mix of stuff. One minute it’s some chill lo-fi beats, the next it’s, uh, sea shanties. Don’t judge.
The Exploration Begins
- Step 1: Eyeball the “Recently Played.” Immediate reaction: “Wow, I listen to that?”
- Step 2: Check out the “Made For You” playlists. Spotify thinks it knows me. Does it, though?
- Step 3: Brave the “Discover Weekly.” This is where things get interesting… or terrifying.
The “Made For You” playlists were pretty accurate, I gotta admit. Lots of indie pop, some electronic stuff, and a healthy dose of 90s throwbacks. Okay, Spotify, you got me there. It’s like looking in a musical mirror.
But then… “Discover Weekly.” Oh boy. It was like Spotify threw a dart at a board covered in genres. One song was some obscure Norwegian black metal, followed by, I kid you not, a polka remix of a Britney Spears song. I skipped that one pretty fast.
There are some interesting songs I have found and I listend to it for several times.
The Verdict
My Spotify listening is all over the place. It’s a mess. A beautiful, chaotic mess. I guess I like a little bit of everything… except maybe polka remixes of pop songs.
I realized I’m less predictable than I thought. And that’s okay! I’m embracing my musical weirdness. It keeps things interesting. At least I have the different genres to listen.
The most important is, I enjoyed the whole process.
