Okay, so I’ve been trying to figure out how to share my fuboTV account with my family without everyone having to use my login. It’s been a bit of a headache, but I think I’ve finally cracked it. Here’s what I did:
First, I logged into my fuboTV account on my laptop. I wanted to get a good look at all the settings and options.
Then, I spent some time poking around in the “My Account” section. I was looking for anything related to family sharing, multiple users, or profiles – anything like that.
I discovered that fuboTV doesn’t have a traditional “family plan” like some other services. Bummer! But, they do allow you to create multiple profiles within a single account. I think it was up to six profiles. That’s helpful!
So, I started creating profiles for each of my family members. I gave each profile a unique name, like “Dad’s Profile,” “Mom’s Profile,” and so on. This is great to keep everyones watch history and recommendations separate.
Next, I figured out the simultaneous streams thing. My fuboTV plan allows for three simultaneous streams. So, I can be watching on my TV, my wife can be watching on her iPad, and one of the kids can be watching on their phone, all at the same time.
To make it easy, I made a note of my main account email and password. It felt weird to share my password, but that’s what it is. I told everyone that this one is the master key, so don’t change it!
I then showed everyone how to log in using my main account credentials and then select their profile once they’re in. It’s a little extra step, but it means we aren’t constantly messing up each other’s viewing history.
A Few Things I Learned
- Three streams max (for my plan, at least) is the limit. We have to coordinate a bit if everyone wants to watch at the same time.
- Everyone uses the same main account login, then picks their profile.
- I might consider upgrading to a plan with more streams if it becomes a constant issue.
- Profiles keep things organized.
It’s not a perfect system, but it’s working for now. We can all watch what we want, when we want (within the stream limits), and my recommendations aren’t getting messed up by cartoons. Hopefully, this helps someone else out there!
