Okay, so I saw this thing online about getting a “free” iPhone 8, and I was like, “Yeah, right.” But, you know, I was curious. I mean, who wouldn’t want a free phone, even if it’s an older model?
First, I started digging around. I spent a good hour just Googling different terms, like “free iPhone 8 no survey,” “iPhone 8 giveaway,” stuff like that. It was a total mess. A bunch of websites popped up, all looking kinda sketchy, with flashing banners and promises that seemed way too good to be true.
I narrowed it down to a few that looked slightly less suspicious. One was a contest from a tech blog I’d never heard of. Another was some kind of “points” system where you had to complete a million surveys and offers. No thanks.
I decided to try the contest one, just for kicks. I filled out the entry form, which asked for my email and name. Simple enough. I also had to follow them on Twitter, which, whatever. I already follow a million random accounts anyway.
My progress details are as follows:
- Entered the contest.
- Followed their Twitter.
- Waited.
- Waited some more.
Honestly, I didn’t expect anything to happen. I figured it was probably rigged or something. I forgot all about it for a few weeks.
Then, out of the blue, I got an email. It said I’d won! I seriously thought it was spam at first. But I checked the sender, and it was the actual blog. I double-checked, triple-checked, and yep, it seemed legit.
They asked me to confirm my address, which I did, still kinda skeptical. A week later, a package showed up. And guess what? It was a freakin’ iPhone 8! It was refurbished, not brand new, but it was in pretty good condition.
So, yeah, I actually got a free iPhone 8. I’m still a little shocked, to be honest. I guess sometimes these things actually work out. It’s not the latest model, but hey, it’s free! I use it as my backup one now.
Would I recommend spending hours searching for giveaways? Probably not. I just got lucky. But it’s a fun story, right?
