Okay, so I saw this “4 Week Lovers Movie” thing going around and thought, “Why not?” It sounded kinda fun, and frankly, my movie-watching habits have been in a rut. Basically, the idea is to watch movies based on a theme for each week. Let me tell you how I planned and executed my 4-week movie journey.
Week 1: Nostalgia Trip
I started by digging up all those movies I loved as a kid. You know, the ones that give you that warm, fuzzy feeling.
- I re-watched “The Lion King” – still makes me cry, no shame.
- Then, I hit up “Back to the Future.” So classic!
- I even managed to squeeze in “E.T.” – that bike scene, man…
Week 2: Laugh-Out-Loud Comedies
After the warm fuzzies, I needed some serious laughs. So, week two was all about comedies. I aimed for stuff that would make my sides hurt.
- “Superbad”, oh yes.
- A bit of a rewatch of “Step Brothers.”
- Something out of the box such as “What We Do in the Shadows” hilarious!
Week 3: Action Packed!
Time to get the adrenaline pumping! Week three was action movie week. I wanted explosions, car chases, the works!
- “Mad Max: Fury Road” – I’ve seen it and wanted to watch again.
- I tried “The Raid: Redemption” – holy moly, those fight scenes!
- of course the classics, such as, the original “Rambo”.
Week 4: Mind-Benders
For the final week, I decided to go for movies that make you think. The kind where you’re still trying to figure things out hours later.
- I finally watched “Inception” – whoa.
- “Arrival”, so thought-provoking.
- Even ended up adding “Primer” – I might need to watch that one again…
So yeah, that was my “4 Week Lovers Movie” experience. Honestly, it was a blast! It got me out of my movie-watching comfort zone and I discovered (and rediscovered) some awesome films. I highly recommend giving it a shot, even if you just tweak the themes to fit your own taste. I’ve got my movie plans for next week as well, might do 4 weeks of Disney.
