Okay, so I decided it was time to get rid of my old iPhone SE. It was just sitting in a drawer, collecting dust. I figured someone else could get some use out of it, and I could use the extra cash.
First things first, I backed up everything. I mean, everything. Photos, contacts, notes… you name it. I plugged it into my computer and did a full backup through iTunes. Better safe than sorry, right?
Next, I signed out of everything. iCloud, iMessage, FaceTime, the App Store… I went through all the settings and made sure my account was completely disconnected from the phone. This is super important for privacy and security.
Then came the big one: erasing all the content and settings. I went into the Settings app, found the “General” section, and then hit “Reset.” There’s an option in there to erase everything. It took a few minutes, but eventually, the phone restarted and showed that welcome screen like it was brand new.
Getting it Ready to Sell
Once the phone was wiped clean, I gave it a good cleaning. I used a slightly damp microfiber cloth to wipe down the screen and the body. I made sure to get any dust or gunk out of the charging port and headphone jack (yeah, this model still had one!).
I also gathered up all the original accessories. I found the original box, the charging cable, and even the little SIM card tool. I figured having all that stuff would make it more appealing to a buyer.
I didn’t wanted to risk my old screen protector on it, it would just look bad and messy. I did not bother with it.
Time to Sell!
Finally, after all the steps, I successfully sold my iphone SE and I am happy about it. I am going to buy some pizza.
