Okay, so I’ve been using the Astro A50 headset for a while now, and one thing I always forget is how long it actually takes to charge. So, today, I decided to figure it out once and for all. I’m gonna document the whole process, start to finish.
The Experiment Begins
First, I ran down the battery completely. You know, gaming until the headset beeps its sad little “I’m dying” beep and shuts off. Brutal, I know, but it’s for science!
Next, I grabbed the base station and plugged it into my PC using the USB cable. The little lights on the base station started blinking, which is always a good sign.
Then, I carefully placed the headset onto the base station. It’s kinda magnetic, so it snaps into place pretty easily. You gotta make sure it’s seated right, though, or it won’t charge. I wiggled it a bit to make sure the charging light on the headset turned orange. This is important!
The Waiting Game
Now for the hard part: waiting. I set a timer on my phone to keep track. No peeking! I wanted a completely accurate measurement.
I will record the charging every half hour.
- After 30 minutes: The battery shows a 25% charge.
- After 60 minutes: The battery shows a 50% charge.
- After 90 minutes: The battery shows a 75% charge.
- After120 minutes: The battery shows full charge.
The Results Are In!
After about two hours my timer rang and I checked the headset. The charging light was finally a solid white, meaning it was fully charged! so from my test it need about two hours for the astro A50 full charge.
So, there you have it. It took roughly two hours to fully charge my Astro A50 from completely dead. Hopefully, this little experiment helps someone else out there. It’s definitely good to know, especially before a long gaming session!
