Fitbit Versa 4 Software Update Guide: Simple Tips for Beginners.

Okay, so my Fitbit Versa 4 was acting a little wonky. The battery was draining faster than usual, and sometimes the screen would freeze. I figured a software update might do the trick, so I decided to give it a shot. Here’s how it all went down.

Getting Started

First, I made sure my Versa 4 was charged. You don’t want the thing dying mid-update. I think mine was around 70% battery, which seemed like plenty.

Then, I grabbed my phone and opened up the Fitbit app. Gotta have that connected, of course.

Finding the Update

This part was a little tricky at first. I tapped around the app for a bit. Finally, I tapped my profile picture in the top corner, then I found my Versa 4 in the device list and tapped it.

I scrolled down, looking for something that said “Update” or “Software” or something similar. The option will be pink if there is a new update for your device.

Kicking Off the Update

I tapped on the “Update” button, and the app started doing its thing. I made sure my phone was on the same wifi, but honestly, the phone was in my hand and of course it would be on the same wifi.

The app showed a progress bar, and I just left my phone and watch alone to let it work. It took a little while – maybe 10 or 15 minutes? I went and made a cup of tea while I waited.

The Waiting Game

Honestly, the hardest part was just being patient. I kept glancing at my watch, but it’s best to just let it do its thing. Don’t mess with it during the update!

Finishing Up

Eventually, the progress bar on my phone filled up, and the watch restarted. It showed the Fitbit logo for a bit, and then it went back to my normal watch face. Success!

After the update, I checked the battery life over the next few days, and it definitely seemed better. The freezing issue also disappeared. So, mission accomplished! It wasn’t too hard, just a little bit of tapping around and a little bit of waiting.
