Okay, so I’ve been rocking the iPhone 12 Pro for a while now, and the battery life has been… well, let’s just say it’s been a journey. I’ve always been curious about how much better the iPhone 13’s battery really is, so I finally decided to do a little experiment.
Getting Started
First, I made sure both phones were fully charged. 100% on both the 12 Pro and the 13. I wanted to see how they’d hold up under similar usage, so I tried to keep things as consistent as possible.
The Test Run
- Morning Routine: I started the day by unplugging both phones around 7 AM. I did my usual morning scroll through social media, checked emails, and streamed some music on my commute.
- Workday Grind: Throughout the day, I used both phones for work-related tasks. Lots of emails, Slack messages, a few calls, and some document editing. Pretty standard stuff.
- Evening Unwind: After work, I used both phones for some YouTube videos, a bit of gaming (mostly casual stuff), and more social media browsing.
The Results(My Observations, Really)
By the end of the day, I was starting to see a pretty clear difference. My 12 Pro was consistently needing a top-up charge by late afternoon, usually around 4 or 5 PM. I’d be nervously watching that battery percentage drop.
The iPhone 13, on the other hand, seemed to just keep going and going. It was still holding a decent charge even by the time I was getting ready for bed. I was actually kind of surprised by how much longer it lasted.
My informal conclusion, no scientific data here, is pretty simple: the iPhone 13’s battery life is noticeably better than the 12 Pro’s. I felt like my iPhone 13 is lasting a solid few hours longer than the 12 pro, under the same kind use.
Of course, everyone uses their phone differently, so your mileage may vary. But based on my own little test, the upgrade to the 13 might be worth it if battery life is a big deal for you, It’s definitely improved.
