Okay, so I’ve been meaning to get one of these cup holder phone mounts for, like, forever. My car’s a bit older, doesn’t have one of those fancy built-in screens, and I’m always fumbling with my phone for directions. Super annoying, and probably not the safest thing either. So, I finally decided to grab one.
I started by just looking around online, you know, the usual places. There are a TON of different ones. I quickly realized I needed to narrow it down.
Figuring Out What I Needed
- Adjustability: My cup holders are kinda low, so I wanted something that could extend upwards and give me a good viewing angle.
- Sturdiness: I didn’t want some flimsy thing that would wobble all over the place while I’m driving.
- Phone Compatibility: I have one of the larger phone. so I confirmed it would have the bigger phone.
After I got the all the information I need, and make sure it fit my car and phone. Finally, I picked one up that seemed to check all the boxes.
The Install (Super Easy!)
Getting it set up was a breeze, honestly. It came in, like, two main parts: the base that goes in the cup holder and the phone holder part itself.
I twisted the base to expand it, so it fit snugly in my cup holder. It’s got this rubbery grip, so it feels really secure. Then, I just attached the phone holder part – it just clicked right in. No tools, no complicated instructions, nothing.
Testing It Out
First thing I did was put my phone in. The holder has these adjustable arms that grabbed it nice and tight. I gave it a good shake, and it didn’t budge. Success!
Then, I took it for a drive. I adjusted the arm and the swivel thingy to get the perfect angle. It was so much better than having my phone sliding around on the passenger seat! I could actually see the map without taking my eyes off the road for more than a split second.
Even on bumpy roads, the thing stayed put. No rattling, no slipping. I’m actually kind of surprised how well it works, especially for something so simple.
I think the best is, I can finally use my phone for directions without feeling like I’m gonna crash. If you’re like me and still relying on your phone for GPS, I definitely recommend checking one of these out. It’s a small thing, but it makes a big difference.
