iPhone Camera Protector – Does It Really Work? See Here

So, I finally upgraded my phone. I went from the iPhone 7 Plus to the iPhone 15 Pro Max. Yeah, I know, big jump. It’s like going from a bicycle to a spaceship or something. Anyway, while I was getting all the usual stuff, you know, the screen protector, the case, and whatnot, I saw these camera lens protectors. Honestly, I never even thought about them before. I mean, I’ve had iPhones for years and never used one. Never had any issues, really. But I thought, why not? Let’s give it a try.

I started reading up on them a bit. Some people online were saying there’s no need for them. They say the iPhone camera lenses are made of sapphire and are super scratch-resistant and tough. And it’s true, they are pretty durable. But then I also read that these protectors could give you that extra peace of mind, especially if you’re someone who’s always using your phone to take pictures in, like, rough conditions. Maybe you’re hiking, at the beach, or just clumsy like me.

After going back and forth, I decided to get one. The installation process was actually pretty easy. I’m no tech wizard or anything, but it was basically just sticking it on. They usually come with a little kit that helps you align it properly. You just need to make sure your camera lenses are clean before you put it on, you know, no dust or fingerprints.

Here’s how I did it:

  • Cleaned the Lenses: I used the cleaning wipe that came with the protector kit to clean the camera lenses on my iPhone.
  • Aligned the Protector: Carefully, I aligned the protector with the camera lenses, making sure not to touch the adhesive side with my fingers.
  • Applied the Protector: I gently pressed down on the protector, starting from the center and moving outwards to push out any air bubbles.
  • Checked for Bubbles: If there were any air bubbles, I used a small card to push them out to the edges.
  • Final Check: After applying, I did a final check to ensure it was aligned correctly and there were no bubbles.

Now that it’s on, I barely even notice it’s there. It doesn’t mess with the picture quality at all, which was one of my main concerns. The pictures look just as good as they did before. And it’s kind of reassuring to know that there’s an extra layer of protection there. It’s like having a little shield for your camera.

So, is it a must-have? I guess not. But it’s a nice-to-have, especially for the price. It’s a small investment for some extra protection and peace of mind. If you’re on the fence about it, I’d say go for it. It’s better to be safe than sorry, right? Especially with these expensive phones. You wouldn’t want to scratch those fancy camera lenses.
