Okay, so I recently decided to get a hub for my Mac mini. I mean, that little machine is great and all, but it’s seriously lacking in the ports department. So, I started looking around, and boy, there are a lot of options out there. After some digging, I settled on this one hub that looked pretty promising. I liked that it was designed specifically for the Mac mini, and it seemed to have everything I needed.
When it finally arrived, I eagerly unboxed it and started setting it up. The first thing I did was place the hub under my Mac mini, which was a breeze. It fit perfectly, like they were made for each other. Then, I connected the hub to my Mac mini using the USB-C cable that came with it. Easy peasy.
- Next, I started plugging in all my devices. I connected my external hard drive, my mouse, and my keyboard to the USB-A ports on the front of the hub.
- Oh, and I also popped an SD card into the reader to transfer some photos.
I was honestly surprised at how much easier it was to access all my ports now. No more fumbling around the back of the Mac mini trying to find the right port. Everything was right there in front of me, within easy reach. And with two 10Gbps USB-A ports, moving files around was super fast.
I also tested connecting an external display through HDMI port. The image was clear and there was no delay. It was amazing.
My Final Thoughts
So far, I’m really happy with this hub. It’s made a huge difference in how I use my Mac mini. I’m not a big fan of having a bunch of extra accessories, but this hub is definitely a keeper. It’s like it’s a part of my Mac mini now. I heard that it can not be used as a Homekit hub, but who cares, because I just bought an AppleTV.
If you’re a Mac mini user, I highly recommend checking out a hub like this. It might seem like a small thing, but it really does make a big difference. Trust me, you won’t regret it!
