Where to Find Candid AI Photos? Check Out These Top Platforms

Alright, so I’ve been messing around with this whole “candid AI photos” thing, and let me tell you, it’s been a wild ride. I wanted to see if I could get some natural-looking photos without having to pose or do anything fancy.

First, I went down this rabbit hole of trying to find apps or tools that could do this. Turns out, there’s a bunch of them! I stumbled upon this one called Lensa AI that everyone was talking about. It’s supposed to take your selfies and turn them into these artsy portraits using AI. Sounded cool, so I uploaded a few of my selfies. The results? Well, they were… interesting. Some were pretty neat, like they were painted or something. But others, not so much. Kind of weird, to be honest. And then there was this whole thing about the app itself, some controversy or whatever. I didn’t really dig into that.

So, Lensa was a bit of a mixed bag. But I wasn’t giving up. I found this other thing, *. This one let me upload a bunch of regular photos, and it was supposed to do some AI magic to make them look more candid. It’s not like I’m a photo expert or anything, so I just gave it a shot. Uploaded a bunch of pics, and waited. The results were better than Lensa, I guess. Some of the photos actually looked like they were taken in the moment, which was what I was going for. Still, it wasn’t perfect. Some of the pics had this weird lighting going on, like the shadows were all messed up.

After that, I thought, “Why not try something different?” That’s when I found Canva. Now, I’ve used Canva before to make posters and stuff, but I didn’t know they had AI image stuff. They have these tools where you just type in what you want, and it generates a picture based on that. It’s not really for making existing photos look candid, but more like creating images from scratch. I played around with it for a bit, typing in stuff like “person laughing at a coffee shop” and “friends having a picnic.” The images it generated were kind of cool, but also a bit obvious that they were made by AI. The backgrounds were sometimes funky, and the lighting was, again, an issue.

Organizing Photos with AI

  • Started messing with organizing my massive photo collection.
  • Found this thing called PhotoPrism.
  • Tried it out, and it’s pretty neat for sorting through tons of photos.
  • Used its AI to find similar photos and group them together.
  • Connected it to my Dropbox, so now all my photos are synced and organized.

In the end, this whole candid AI photo experiment was a bit of a rollercoaster. Some tools are better than others, and none of them are perfect. But it’s cool to see what AI can do with photos. I guess we’re not quite at the point where AI can perfectly capture those natural, candid moments, but we’re getting there. And PhotoPrism is pretty useful.
