So, the other day I got a wild idea. I thought, why not try a bunch of different phone cases for my old iPhone 7? I mean, this phone has been with me through thick and thin, and it deserves some new looks, right?
I started browsing online. First, I checked out eBay. After that, I went to Best Buy’s website to see what they had. Oh boy, the choices! It’s like a candy store for phone cases. Slim ones, bulky ones, colorful ones, clear ones… you name it.
I ended up picking seven cases that caught my eye. Here’s what I got:
- Miracase Ultra Slim: This one promised to be super thin and came with a screen protector. Seemed like a good everyday option.
- Impactstrong: Two of these actually, they looked pretty solid and the price was a steal at $1.299 each! Figured they’d be good for when I’m feeling clumsy.
- Jaroco: Also got two of these and they were much more expensive at $999 each. I hope they are made of gold.
- OtterBox: Everyone talks about OtterBox, so I had to try one. It was the cheapest of the lot at $1.99, I guess it is really popular!
- Saharacase Trend Series: This one just looked cool, okay? I liked the design. And it was the second most expensive at $2.999.
When the packages arrived, it was like Christmas morning! I ripped them open and started trying on the cases. The Miracase was indeed very slim, felt nice in my hand. The Impactstrong cases were definitely tougher, I felt like I could drop my phone from a building (not that I will). The Jaroco case, had the weirdest texture and it kinda looked cheap. The OtterBox was… well, it was an OtterBox. It made my phone a bit bulky, but I felt like it could survive a nuclear war. Finally, the Saharacase looked just as good in person as it did online.
Over the next few days, I switched between the cases. I took the Miracase to work, the Impactstrong to the gym, and the Saharacase out to dinner. The Jaroco case mostly stayed home, I was really regretting my purchase on that one. It was fun playing dress-up with my phone!
In the end, I realized a few things. One, even an old phone can feel new with the right case. Two, you don’t need to spend a lot of money to get a decent case (except for the Jaroco cases, those were a waste of money). And three, it’s always good to have options. You never know when you’ll need a super-protective case or just want a change of scenery.
So, that’s my little phone case adventure. Maybe it’ll inspire you to try some new looks for your phone too!
