Okay, so I recently decided it was time to give my MacBook Pro a good clean-up. Not just the screen and keyboard, but the whole shebang, including the clear computer case I’ve been using. You know, the one that’s supposed to protect it from scratches and all that. Well, mine had gotten pretty grimy, so I figured I’d share my cleaning adventure with you all.
First things first, I took the case off my MacBook. It was one of those snap-on ones, so it wasn’t too difficult. Just had to carefully pry it off from the corners. Then, I looked at the case itself. Yikes! It was covered in dust, fingerprints, and some unidentifiable sticky stuff. Definitely time for a deep clean.
I grabbed a microfiber cloth and some warm water. I didn’t want to use anything too harsh that might damage the plastic. I dipped the cloth in the water, wrung it out so it was just damp, and started wiping down the case.
- I started with the outside, gently rubbing in circular motions to loosen up any dirt.
- Then, I flipped it over and cleaned the inside, paying extra attention to the edges where dust tends to collect.
For the really stubborn spots, I used a little bit of mild dish soap. Just a drop on the damp cloth, and I scrubbed a little harder. I made sure to rinse the cloth thoroughly afterward to get rid of any soap residue.
After all that wiping and scrubbing, I rinsed the entire case under the tap, just to make sure I got off all the soap and loosened dirt. Then, I grabbed another clean, dry microfiber cloth and dried the case completely. You don’t want any water spots, right?
The Result
And there you have it! My clear case was sparkling clean, like new. I put the clean case back on my MacBook, and it looked so much better. The whole process only took me about 15 minutes, and it was definitely worth it. Now my MacBook Pro is looking fresh and clean, and I can actually see through the case again!
