OK, let’s talk about some stuff called “orange apps”. I stumbled upon these things the other day, and I got to say, it was a bit of a wild ride.

First off, I got a message on my phone, it seems like something about some free texts I’ve been getting. This company called EE is taking away the Orange “out here” package. Apparently, in about 30 days, my old pay-as-you-go plan will switch to an EE call plan. Bummer, right? So I gotta check out what this whole “Orange” thing is all about.

I started digging around, and man, there are a bunch of these Orange apps! There’s one called Orange et Moi, then Maxlt, Orange Money, My Orange, Orange TV, Orange Radio, Orange Telephone, and even Orange Travel. It’s like a whole ecosystem. The Orange Travel one really caught my eye – buying, managing, and topping up eSIM plans? Sounds fancy. I didn’t even know what an eSIM was until now!

I also found some other apps that are not the same thing, but sounded similar. One is called 2Calculate. It claims to be a “child-friendly spreadsheet tool” made for primary school students. I guess it’s trying to make spreadsheets simple. Then there’s this other one, Evidence Me, an “award-winning observation and assessment app”. Sounds like something teachers might use. No clue what “CodePlex” and “binary format” are, I just saw them mentioned somewhere. And something called “White Rose maths workbooks”? You can find answers to every question somewhere. Weird.

Then I saw something like “version: 1.6.10.3948”. Sign in and forgot password? I guess that’s for one of these Orange apps. And it claims to be “one of the world’s leading providers of digital resources for nursery”. A nursery for kids? Or plants? I don’t know.

So, I ended up downloading a few of these Orange apps. I tried out Orange et Moi first. It seemed pretty straightforward. I think it’s like a hub for managing your Orange account and services. Orange Money looks like a mobile money thing, which could be handy. My Orange is another account management one, not sure how it’s different from Orange et Moi. The TV, Radio, and Telephone apps are kind of self-explanatory, I guess. I didn’t bother with those too much.

Overall, it was a bit of an information overload. I mean, who knew there were so many Orange apps? I still need to figure out what’s going on with my phone plan, but at least I learned about eSIMs, and some other apps that I don’t think will use.
