Pixel Buds Audio Sounds Low Quality: Is It a Common Problem?

So, I’ve been messing around with these Pixel Buds for a while now, and man, the audio quality has been a real pain in the neck. I mean, you’d think for the price, they’d sound amazing, right? Wrong. They sounded kinda… muffled, like I was listening through a pillow or something. It was driving me nuts!

First thing I did was, you know, the usual. I restarted my phone, re-paired the buds, made sure everything was up to date, all that jazz. Still, nothing changed. They still sounded like garbage.

Then, I started digging around online, looking for anyone else who might have had the same problem. Turns out, a bunch of people were complaining about the same thing. I found a couple of threads on some forums, and some folks were suggesting some pretty wild stuff, like messing with the developer options on your phone and all that. Honestly, I’m not super tech-savvy, so I was a little hesitant to go down that road.

But then, I stumbled upon this one comment that mentioned something about the “HD audio” setting. Apparently, sometimes it gets toggled off for some reason. I was like, “Wait, what’s that?” So, I went into my Bluetooth settings, found my Pixel Buds, and sure enough, there it was: “HD audio: AAC”. And guess what? It was switched off!

I tapped on that little slider, switched it on, and boom! It was like a whole new world. The audio quality instantly improved. It was so much clearer, crisper, and just… better. I couldn’t believe that such a simple setting was causing all this trouble. Now my buds are sounding amazing!

    Here’s what I did, step-by-step:

  • Went into my phone’s Bluetooth settings.
  • Found my Pixel Buds in the list of paired devices.
  • Tapped on the little gear icon next to them to get to the settings.
  • Located the “HD audio: AAC” option.
  • Turned it on by tapping the slider.

It was that easy. I felt a little silly for not finding it sooner, but hey, at least it’s fixed now. Hopefully, this little trick helps someone else out there who’s pulling their hair out over their Pixel Buds’ crappy audio quality.
