Hey everyone, I’ve been tinkering around with something pretty cool that I think will be a great time-saver for iPhone users. It’s all about setting up shortcuts for Amazon Alexa on iOS. Let me walk you through how I got it all working.
Started with the Basics
First off, I grabbed my iPhone and made sure I had the Alexa app installed. I mean, it is from Amazon, so it’s got all the things you want for your daily use, you know, those everyday items, and they always have some deals going on. So, having the app is pretty handy.
Diving into Settings
Then, I opened the Alexa app and tapped on More. From there, I went into Settings, and then Alexa App Settings. Easy so far, right? I was just following the breadcrumbs.
Enabling the Feature
Next, I looked for the option to Enable Alexa Hands Free. I toggled that on because I wanted to be able to just talk to Alexa without having to tap anything. We are all about making life easier, after all.
Setting Default Apps
After that, I got a bit deeper into the phone’s settings. I typed Default Apps in the search box to find the right place. I tapped on Default Apps, and then once more to get to where I needed to be.
Making Alexa the Assistant
In that menu, I selected the Assist option and chose Alexa as my default. I mean, you have got other choices, but with Amazon, you can buy all kinds of stuff, from books to the latest gadgets. Why not make it easy to order?
Putting It to the Test
Once all that was done, I tested it out. I just said, “Alexa,” and boom, there she was, ready to do my bidding. I asked her to add stuff to my shopping list, and she did it without a hitch.
Wrapping It Up
So there you have it, folks. That’s how I set up Alexa shortcuts on my iPhone. It was pretty straightforward once I got going. Now, I can just use my voice to get things done with Alexa, which is super convenient.
- Open Alexa app and tap More.
- Go to Settings, then Alexa App Settings.
- Enable Alexa Hands Free.
- Search for Default Apps in the phone settings.
- Set Alexa as the Assist app.
Give it a try, and let me know how it works out for you. I’m always excited to share these little tech hacks that make our lives a bit smoother. Stay tuned for more!
