Okay, so I finally got my hands on the AMVR stuff for my Quest 3. I’ve been hearing about this brand for a while, seeing people rave about their Quest 2 accessories, so I figured, why not give it a shot? I ordered it, waited a bit, and boom, it arrived.
First thing I did was unpack everything. I got the facial interface and the head strap. They looked pretty decent, I gotta say. The materials felt nice, not cheap or anything. The facial interface has this soft, kind of foamy padding, and it definitely felt more comfortable than the default one that comes with the Quest 3.
The Facial Interface
Putting it on was simple enough. I just removed the old one and clipped on the AMVR interface. It fit perfectly, no issues there. I put the headset on, and yeah, it was a noticeable difference. It felt softer on my face, and there was less pressure, especially around my nose area. That’s a big plus for me because I tend to get these red marks after using the VR for a while.
- Take off the old.
- Put on the new.
- Feel the comfort.
I played a couple of games, did some work in VR, you know, the usual stuff. I wanted to see if this thing was actually better for longer sessions. And honestly, it was. I didn’t feel that annoying pressure on my face, even after a few hours. It’s definitely more breathable. I didn’t get as sweaty as I usually do. The extra padding really does make a difference, it’s way more pleasant to wear, especially when you’re deep into a game or something.
The Head Strap
Next up was the head strap. Now, the default Quest 3 strap isn’t terrible, but it’s not the best either. I was hoping the AMVR one would be an improvement. Installing it was a bit more involved than the facial interface, but still pretty straightforward. I followed the instructions, and it took me like, 5-10 minutes? Nothing too crazy.
Once I got it on, I adjusted the straps, tightened the knob at the back, and put the headset on. It felt more secure, more stable. The weight distribution was better, too. It didn’t feel as front-heavy as it did with the original strap. This is a game-changer for me because I like to move around a lot when I’m playing, and with the old strap, the headset would sometimes shift around, which was annoying.
I played some Beat Saber, some Pistol Whip, games where you’re really moving your head a lot. The AMVR strap held up great. The headset stayed in place, no slipping or sliding. I could really get into the game without worrying about the headset falling off. Plus, it was just more comfortable overall. It felt like the weight was evenly distributed around my head, not just pressing down on my face.
So, yeah, that’s my experience with the AMVR stuff for the Quest 3. I’m pretty happy with it. It’s definitely an upgrade from the stock accessories. If you’re someone who spends a lot of time in VR, I’d say it’s worth checking out. It’s made my VR sessions way more comfortable and enjoyable. No more red marks, no more annoying pressure, just pure VR fun.
