Okay, so I’ve been wanting to mess around with Apple’s spatial audio for a while, you know, that “stereo” thing they do. It sounded cool, but I wasn’t sure how to actually get it working. I’m no audio engineer, believe me.
First, I grabbed my AirPods Pro – gotta have the right gear, right? I made sure they were connected to my iPhone. That part was easy, just the usual Bluetooth pairing.
Getting Started
Then, I opened up the Settings app. I scrolled down and tapped on “Music”. There were a bunch of options in there, and I remember searching the setting which named “Dolby Atmos”. I made it “Automatic”.
Fine-Tuning the Experience
Then, I had to, well, actually play some music. I fired up Apple Music and chose a random playlist that mentioned the thing “Spatial Audio”. The playlist included a lot of songs, so I picked up one randomly.
The Result
Finally, I was ready to experience the whole spatial audio thing, and I was not disappointed! The music became more immersive. It sounds that coming from different directions, creating a much wider and more three-dimensional soundstage. You know, it’s like, the singer is right in front of you, and the drums are a bit behind and to the side. It’s a subtle effect, but it definitely makes the music feel more… alive, I guess?
So, yeah, that’s my little adventure into Apple’s spatial audio. Not exactly rocket science, but pretty cool nonetheless! It is a worthwhile experience!
