Okay, so I recently got my hands on a Lenovo Yoga 7, and like any normal person, the first thing I wanted to do was see if it could handle some serious gaming. I’m a big fan of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, so that was my test subject.
The Setup
First, I made sure all my drivers were updated. You know the drill – gotta get that optimal performance. I also closed any unnecessary background apps. Gotta give the game all the resources it can get.
Firing Up the Game
I launched Valhalla, and initially, I went with the default graphics settings. The game suggested a mix of medium and high, I think. I hopped into the game, started running around, doing some parkour, you know, the usual Assassin’s Creed stuff.
The Results
- Medium/High Settings: It was… playable. We’re talking around 30-40 FPS, maybe? It wasn’t buttery smooth, but it wasn’t a slideshow either. There were definitely some noticeable frame drops during big fights or when there was a lot going on.
Tweaking Time
I’m a bit of a stickler for smooth gameplay, so I started messing with the settings. I dropped a few things down to low, like shadows and some of the environmental details. I also messed with resolution scaling a little bit.
- Lowered Settings: After some adjustments, I was able to get a more consistent 45-50 FPS. It looked a little less pretty, but the smoother gameplay was worth it, in my opinion. It made those Viking raids much more enjoyable.
Final Thoughts
So, can the Lenovo Yoga 7 run Assassin’s Creed Valhalla? Yeah, it can. But don’t expect to crank everything up to ultra and get a super high frame rate. If you’re willing to play around with the settings and make some compromises, you can definitely have a good time.
It’s not a dedicated gaming beast, but It gets the job done for some casual gaming when I’m away from my main gaming rig.
