Okay, so I’ve had this 2017 MacBook Pro 13-inch for a while now, and it’s been pretty good to me. But, you know, I wanted to keep it looking decent, not all scratched up. So, I decided to get a case.
The Hunt Begins
I started looking around, just browsing, you know? Didn’t want anything too bulky, but I also needed something that would actually protect the laptop. It’s surprisingly hard to find something that’s both slim and protective!
Narrowing it Down
I knew I wanted a hard shell case. Those soft ones just don’t feel like they’d do much if I dropped my MacBook. So, I focused on hardshell options. There are a ton of them out there, it was kind of overwhelming. I looked at a bunch of different brands.
Picking the One
I read a bunch of reviews. Some cases had problems with cracking, others didn’t fit quite right, and some just looked cheap. Finally, I found one that seemed pretty solid. Good reviews, not too expensive, and it looked like it would fit my 2017 model perfectly. It was described as a hardshell, matte-finish case.
The Install
Nervous System is working.
When the case arrived, I was excited to try this case. I took my MacBook and carefully cleaned it all over, making sure there wasn’t any dust or anything.
- The case came in two pieces: one for the top and one for the bottom.
- I started with the bottom piece. I just kind of lined it up and gently snapped it on. It clicked into place pretty easily.
- Then I did the top. Same thing, lined it up, snapped it on. Super easy!
Living with the Case
I’ve been using the case for a few weeks now, and I’m pretty happy with it. It doesn’t add much bulk, and it feels like it’s actually protecting my MacBook. The matte finish is nice, too – doesn’t show fingerprints. Plus, it’s got these little rubber feet on the bottom, which keep it from sliding around on my desk. All in all, a good purchase! I feel a lot better about tossing my MacBook in my bag now.
