Okay, so I’ve been messing around with my Garmin watch for a while now, and one of the things I really got into was customizing the watch faces. I mean, the default ones are fine, but where’s the fun in that, right? So, I started digging around to find the “best” ones, and let me tell you, it was a bit of a rabbit hole.
My First Steps: The Connect IQ Store
First thing I did was jump onto the Connect IQ Store. It is pretty easy, I just opened up the Connect IQ app on my phone that I used to have connected to my watch. Think of it like the app store, but just for Garmin stuff. There are tons of watch faces there, made by both Garmin and other developers. I just spent some time browsing, looking at screenshots, and reading descriptions.
Experimenting with Different Styles
At first, I was all about the super data-heavy faces. You know, the ones that show you everything – steps, heart rate, calories, weather, altitude, the phase of the moon, probably even your dog’s mood if you looked hard enough. I downloaded a bunch of those. I felt like a super-athlete just looking at my wrist, even if I was just sitting on the couch.

But then, I realized that sometimes, less is more. All that info started to feel cluttered. It was like my watch was yelling at me. So, I switched gears and started trying out some more minimalist designs.

The Final Result (For Now…)
After a lot of trial and error,I realize that there is no such thing as a perfect list, but I’ve settled on a few favorites that I rotate through. And I think I have found my best fit so far.
So, that’s my little journey into the world of Garmin watch faces. It’s a fun way to personalize your watch and make it feel more “you”. Don’t be afraid to experiment and find what works best for your own style and needs! You can always change it back, so just play with difference things to see what works best for you.
