Okay, so today I messed around with turning images into text prompts, you know, like those AI art generators use. It’s called “img to prompt” and I wanted to see how it works.
Getting Started
First, I needed a picture. I just grabbed a random photo of my cat sleeping on the sofa – prime material for some AI weirdness, I thought.
The Process
- I found some online tools, you type in “image to prompt” and a few options pop up.I used Replicate, it’s pretty straightforward.
- Then I just uploaded my cat picture. Simple enough.
- Clicked a button that said something like “Generate Prompt”.
Results
It spit out a text description, the “prompt.” It was kind of detailed, something like: “A fluffy tabby cat curled up asleep on a blue velvet sofa, sunlight streaming in from a window, soft focus.” Not bad, actually!
It’s not gonna win any writing awards, but you could definitely plug that prompt into one of those AI image generators and get something similar to my original photo back.
My Takes
It is a very interesting experiment.
I can see how this could be useful, you know?If you were using some AI art stuff and had a specific style in mind.
It wasn’t perfect, obviously. I tried it with a few other photos, and sometimes the descriptions were a bit off or missed some key details. But it was a fun little experiment, and now I have a better idea of how these image-to-prompt tools work.
