Okay, so I’ve been seeing this “new era aesthetics” thing popping up all over my feeds, and I got curious. You know me, I gotta try things out myself!
My Little Experiment with New Era Aesthetics
First, I scrolled through a ton of images. Like, a lot. Just to get a feel for what this whole thing is about. I noticed a few repeating themes – soft colors, grainy textures, and a kind of dreamy, almost vintage vibe. It’s pretty, I gotta admit.
Then I thought, “How can I make this my own?” I mean, I’m not gonna just copy someone else’s style. So, I started playing around with what I already had.
I dug out some old photos – you know, the ones that didn’t quite make the cut for my usual feed. Pictures with weird lighting, maybe a little blurry, stuff like that. The rejects, basically.
Next, I opened up my favorite editing app. I usually go for bright and crisp, but this time, I went the opposite way. I lowered the contrast, messed with the saturation, and added a bunch of grain. It felt weird at first, like I was ruining the photos, but I kept going.
- Played with color grading. Lots of muted tones, dusty pinks, and faded blues.
- Added some light leaks and dust overlays. Just a touch, to give it that old-school film look.
- Experimented with different fonts. Nothing too clean or modern. Something with a bit of a handwritten feel.
Honestly, the whole process was surprisingly fun. It was like giving those “imperfect” photos a new life. And the result? Pretty cool, I think. It’s definitely different from my usual style, but it still feels like me, you know?
I posted a few of the edited photos, and people seemed to like them! It’s always fun to try something new and see how it goes. It’s not a radical change that I completely got, but some new style that I want to try.
So, yeah, that’s my little adventure with new era aesthetics. It’s all about embracing imperfection, playing with colors and textures, and finding beauty in the unexpected. If you’re feeling curious, give it a shot! You might surprise yourself.
