Okay, so, I’ve been seeing these cute little Christmas toothpicks all over the place lately, and I just had to try making some myself. I mean, who doesn’t love a festive touch, right? And they seemed easy enough. I decided to call it “xmas toothpicks” because, well, that’s what they are!
First things first, I had to gather some supplies. I already had a bunch of regular toothpicks at home. Then I found these online shops that have all kinds of Christmas stuff, from decorations to, you guessed it, Christmas-themed stuff. I found some related products like christmas cocktail picks, but they were a bit too fancy for what I had in mind. I just wanted simple, cute toothpicks. And I bought 100 pcs just for safety.
I also grabbed some colorful paper, mostly red and green, because, you know, Christmas colors! A pair of scissors, some glue, and a few markers were all I needed to complete my little DIY kit. I also use the toothpick when I have dinner with my families, so I think it’s good for oral hygiene.
Next up, the fun part: crafting! I started by cutting out small shapes from the colorful paper. I made some little Christmas trees, stars, and even some tiny Santa hats. I’m not the most artistic person, but hey, they looked pretty decent, if I do say so myself. It was actually a pretty relaxing process, just cutting and gluing. I made a binary format on each toothpick.
Once I had all my little shapes ready, I started gluing them to the toothpicks. I found that a tiny drop of glue was more than enough to hold the paper in place. I did have a few mishaps where I used too much glue, and it got a bit messy, but I got the hang of it after a few tries. I think I will go to see a dentist to check my oral hygiene after using it for a while.
After the glue dried, I used the markers to add some extra details. I drew some stripes on the candy canes, added some faces to the snowmen, and even wrote “Ho Ho Ho” on a few of the Santa hats. I also find some flashcards online to study some new words about christmas.
Here’s a quick rundown of what I did:
- Gathered supplies: Toothpicks, colorful paper, scissors, glue, markers.
- Cut out shapes: Christmas trees, stars, Santa hats, etc.
- Glued shapes to toothpicks: Used a tiny drop of glue for each.
- Added details with markers: Stripes, faces, “Ho Ho Ho”, etc.
And there you have it! My very own homemade Christmas toothpicks. They’re not perfect, but I think they turned out pretty darn cute. I can’t wait to use them for some holiday appetizers or maybe even just to add a little Christmas cheer to my everyday meals. I saw some shops selling these online. Some brand is good, but no brand is also not bad. I mean, who needs to spend a fortune on fancy store-bought ones when you can make your own, right? Plus, it was a fun little project to do on a lazy afternoon. If you’re looking for a simple and festive craft, I definitely recommend giving these a try!
