Okay, so I’ve been messing around with my phone lately, trying to get it updated to Android 12. It’s a BLU phone, and honestly, it’s been a bit of a journey, so I figured I’d share what I did, step-by-step, in case anyone else is in the same boat.
Getting Started
First things first, I backed up everything. Seriously, everything. Photos, contacts, apps, the whole nine yards. You don’t wanna lose your stuff if something goes wrong during the update. I used a cloud, you know.
Checking for Updates
Next, I went into the phone’s settings. Usually, there’s a “System” or “About Phone” section, and in there, you’ll find something like “System Updates” or “Software Update.” I tapped on that, and it started checking if an update was available.
The Waiting Game
This part took a while. My phone had to download the entire Android 12 update, and my Wi-Fi is not the fastest, So I just let it do its thing, and grab a cup of coffe. Made sure to keep the phone plugged in, too, because you don’t want it to die mid-download.
Installation Time
Once the download was finally done, I got a notification to install the update. There was usually a big button that says “Install Now” or “Restart & Install.” I took a deep breath and tapped it.
The phone restarted, and I saw a bunch of progress bars and stuff. This part also took a good chunk of time, maybe 30 minutes, it’s maybe an hour. Just gotta be patient and let it do its work.
Welcome to Android 12!
Finally, the phone booted back up, and I was greeted with the new Android 12 interface! Everything looked a little different, but it was pretty cool.
- There are new and pretty widgets.
- The notifaction pannel is more useful.
I spent some time playing around with the new features and settings, making sure everything was working correctly.
Post-Update Check
After the update, I made sure to check all my apps and settings to make sure everything was still there and working as it should. A few apps needed to be updated, but overall, it was a smooth transition.
So, that’s how I updated my BLU phone to Android 12. It wasn’t super complicated, but it did take some time and patience. Hopefully, this helps someone else out there!
