So I got this new Eufy E340 camera, and I wanted to hook it up to my Blue Iris setup. It wasn’t super straightforward, but I finally figured it out. Here’s how I did it.
First, I made sure my Eufy E340 was all set up and working fine with the Eufy app. You know, the usual stuff – connected to my Wi-Fi, updated firmware, all that jazz.
Then I went into the Eufy app and found the camera’s IP address. This is pretty important because you’ll need it to tell Blue Iris where to find the camera.
Next, I opened up Blue Iris. It might be a bit different depending on your version, but generally, you want to add a new camera. I clicked the “+” button, or whatever it is on your screen to add a new camera, you know how to do it.
In the new camera window, I gave my camera a name, like “Front Door Eufy” or something like that. Then, I chose “Network IP” as the connection type. And filled out the “User” and “Password” with your Eufy account info.
Here’s where it gets a bit tricky. In the “Address” field, I put in the IP address of my Eufy E340, followed by “:554”. It looked something like this: “192.168.*:554” and I set the “Discovery/ONVIF port” to 8000. And I changed the “Media/video/RTSP port” to 554.
Then, I clicked on the “Find/inspect…” button. It takes a few seconds, but Blue Iris should eventually find the camera.
Once it found the camera, I selected the main stream – usually, it’s the one with the highest resolution. Then, in the “Make” dropdown, I selected “Eufy” and in the “Model” dropdown I picked the “E340”. It might also be labeled as “Eufy RTSP”.
I clicked “OK” a bunch of times to save all the settings, and then, boom! My Eufy E340 was showing up in Blue Iris.
But, I wasn’t done yet. The video was a bit choppy at first, so I went back into the camera settings in Blue Iris. Under the “Video” tab, I messed around with the “Hardware accelerated decode” setting. Sometimes “Intel” works, sometimes “None” is better. You gotta play around with it to see what works best for your system.
Also, I noticed that the audio wasn’t working right away. To fix that, I went to the “Audio” tab in the camera settings and selected the audio stream. Usually, it’s the one that says “AAC” or “G.711”.
After all that, my Eufy E340 was finally integrated into my Blue Iris setup. Now I can record, view, and manage my Eufy camera alongside my other cameras, all in one place. Pretty neat, huh?
It took a bit of trial and error, but it was worth it. Hope this helps someone out there trying to do the same thing!
