Okay, so this morning, I was like, “Let’s do the NYT Mini.” I’m not a crossword whiz or anything, but I enjoy giving my brain a little nudge. It’s become sort of a ritual, you know? Coffee, Mini, then I feel ready to tackle the day.
First thing I did was open up the NYT Games app on my phone. I used to do it on my laptop, but the app is just way more convenient. Clicked on the Mini section – it’s right there at the top, can’t miss it.
The Grid Appears…
Then the grid pops up, all those empty little squares staring back at me. I usually scan the across clues first, just to get a feel for things. Sometimes, one just jumps out at me, like “Oh, I know that!” Other times… not so much.
Today, there was a pretty easy one – something about a common abbreviation. Banged that one in, three letters, felt good. Then I moved to the down clues, trying to see if anything connected to that first answer.
- I filled in a couple more, feeling pretty clever.
- There was one clue about a type of fruit – totally blanked on that one for a minute.
- Then, it hit me! Typed it in, and bam, another connection.
It’s like a little puzzle, each word helping you unlock the others. Sometimes I get stuck and have to skip around, trying different clues, looking for anything that sparks a connection in my brain.
I finally finished it, it felt successful!
That’s pretty much it! My little Mini adventure for the day. It’s a small thing, but it’s a fun way to start the morning and keep the brain cells ticking over.
