Alright, so the other day I finally got around to connecting my Sensi thermostat to the Wi-Fi. It wasn’t as straightforward as I thought it would be, so I figured I’d share my experience in case anyone else is struggling with the same thing.

Getting Started

First things first, I made sure I had everything I needed:

  • My Sensi thermostat, obviously.
  • My home Wi-Fi network name and password.
  • My smartphone.
  • The Sensi app (which I downloaded from the app store).

I double-checked that my Wi-Fi was working, and my phone was connected to it. That seemed like a no-brainer, but you never know!

The First Attempt (and Failure)

I opened the Sensi app and followed the on-screen instructions. It seemed simple enough. The app asked me to put the thermostat into “Network” mode. I fiddled around with the thermostat’s menu buttons until I found that setting. The thermostat displayed a code, and the app asked me to input it. So far, so good.

But then… nothing. The app kept spinning and spinning, trying to connect, but it just wouldn’t work. I tried it a couple of times, thinking maybe I typed something wrong, but still no luck. I started to get a little frustrated, I must admit.

Figuring It Out

After a few failed tries. I took the steps like this:

  • I found my Sensi thermostat and I took my phone that have Sensi app, opened.
  • I clicked the “+” button, then the app request me to select the device, I chosen “Sensi Smart Thermostat”.
  • It asked me that whether I have already installed the thermostat, of course yes.
  • Then it appeared two options on my phone, I chosen “Connect Thermostat to Wifi”.
  • I input the code and password that request by Sensi app.
  • Wait a minutes, it finally connected.

I felt a huge sense of relief. I could finally control the temperature from my phone, even when I wasn’t home. It’s such a cool feature, especially now I don’t worry if forgeting turn off the thermostat.

My takeaway

The whole process took me longer than I expected, The key is patience, I think. Just follow the steps, I think can get it done eventrually. Hope this helps someone out there!
