Okay, so I had this idea to track something over a really long period. I picked May 1st, 2024, as my start date, and I wanted to see what 800 days from that point would look like. It felt like a good, chunky amount of time to see some real change, whatever that change might be.
Getting Started
First thing I did was figure out the end date. I didn’t want to do the math in my head, so I just googled “800 days from May 1 2024”. Simple enough, right? It popped up with the answer: July 9, 2026. Cool.
Tracking My Progress
- I started a new note on my phone. I just titled it “800 Days.”
- Every week or so, I jot down a quick sentence or two about anything that’s been going on. It could be anything – work stuff, how I’m feeling, something I learned, a new song I’m into, literally anything that felt significant in that moment.
- I make note of important dates and how many days in I was when they occurred.
- I’m not super strict about it. Some weeks I write more, some weeks less. The point is to just keep a running log.
Why I’m Doing This
Honestly, I’m not 100% sure why I started this. Part of it is just curiosity. I like the idea of looking back after 800 days and seeing a snapshot of my life over that time. I am also using it as a good way to plan and track my future goals.
It’s also kind of like a mini-journal, but without the pressure of writing full entries every day. It’s more like… collecting little moments. I figured it would be a cool way to see how things change, or maybe how I change, over a longer stretch of time.
What I Expect
I’m not really expecting anything specific. That’s part of the fun! Maybe in 800 days, I’ll read back through it and be amazed at how much has happened. Maybe I’ll be bored. Maybe I’ll have forgotten I even started this project! Who knows. But I’m sticking with it for now, just to see where it goes.
It’ll be interesting to see what this little experiment turns into. Maybe I’ll have some big revelation, or maybe it’ll just be a collection of random notes. Either way, I’m committed to seeing it through.
