Okay, so the other day, I was trying to figure out if my Soundcore Life Q20 headphones had a built-in microphone. I needed to use them for a quick call, and I honestly couldn’t remember if they were just for listening or if I could actually talk through them too.
First, I grabbed the headphones and looked them over. I poked around the earcups, checking for any tiny holes that might be a microphone. I didn’t see anything obvious, but I know those things can be pretty sneaky.
Next, I connected them to my phone via Bluetooth. I figured if they had a mic, it would probably show up as an input option somewhere. I went into my phone’s Bluetooth settings and tapped around, but I didn’t find anything that screamed “microphone.”
- Checked the physical headphones for a microphone hole.
- Connected the headphones to my phone.
- Looked through Bluetooth settings.
Feeling a bit stuck, I decided to just try making a call. I dialed my friend’s number and put the headphones on. When they answered, I just started talking, hoping for the best. And guess what? It worked!
My friend could hear me perfectly fine, which means the Q20s do have a microphone. It’s probably hidden somewhere clever, or maybe it uses some kind of noise-canceling magic to pick up my voice. Whatever the case, I was pretty happy to figure that out.
My little test
I did a quick recording test, too, just to see how the microphone quality was. Sounded clear enough for calls and voice notes, which is all I really need.
So yeah, that’s my little adventure in figuring out the Soundcore Life Q20 microphone situation. Turns out, they work great for calls, even if it’s not super obvious at first glance!
