So, I’ve been messing around with a couple of speaker sets from Edifier lately, the R1280T and the R1280DB. These speakers are like two peas in a pod, but one’s got a few extra tricks up its sleeve.
First off, I unboxed both sets, and honestly, they look pretty much the same. Both have that classic black wood finish that just blends in anywhere. I placed them on my desk, and they fit right in. No fuss, no muss.
Next, I started hooking them up. The R1280T, it’s the simpler one. It has two RCA inputs, you know, the red and white ones. I connected my old record player and my computer to it. Easy peasy. The R1280DB, though, that’s where things get interesting. It also has two RCA inputs, but get this – it has Bluetooth too! So, I paired it with my phone, and bam, instant wireless music.
- Unboxed both the Edifier R1280T and R1280DB.
- Observed the similar classic black wood design.
- Set up the R1280T with two RCA inputs.
- Set up the R1280DB with two RCA inputs and Bluetooth.
Now, I wanted to see how they sound. I played some of my favorite tracks, switching back and forth between the two sets. Both sounded good, I gotta say, especially for their price. I tried adjusting the bass and treble knobs, you know, just to see how much I could tweak the sound.
The main difference I noticed was the Bluetooth on the R1280DB. It’s just so convenient to stream music wirelessly. But for sound quality, they’re neck and neck. I read somewhere that both speakers have a wide frequency range, which means they can handle all sorts of sounds, from low bass to high notes, without missing out on the details. I’m no audiophile, but I could tell they were both giving a full, rich sound.
Sound Test
I conducted a little sound test, playing different genres – some rock, classical, a bit of jazz. Both speakers handled them well. No distortion, even when I cranked up the volume.
In the end, it’s like this: the R1280T is a solid, no-frills speaker set that gets the job done. The R1280DB, with its Bluetooth, adds that extra layer of convenience. I ended up using the R1280DB more, just because I like streaming music from my phone. The price difference isn’t huge, but that Bluetooth feature is a game-changer for me.
