Okay, here’s my experience with a cordless pool skimmer:
So, I finally caved and got myself one of those fancy cordless pool skimmers. You know, the robotic kind that’s supposed to do all the work for you? Yeah, well, let me tell you, it’s been a bit of a journey.
First off, I did a ton of research. I mean, I probably read every review out there. There are so many options, it’s crazy! I finally settled on one that seemed pretty good, and by good I mean, not too terribly expensive but still had decent reviews. It’s cordless, which was a big selling point for me. No one wants to deal with tangled cords around the pool, right?
When it arrived, I was pretty pumped. I ripped open the box like a kid on Christmas morning. Got it all set up, which, I gotta say, wasn’t too bad. The instructions were actually pretty clear. The advertising said it has a 5L large basket and 100 gallons per minute suction. And it has dual motors to make sure it cleans up to 1,100 *. above-ground pool. Charged it up – it only took like two hours, which is pretty sweet. Then, it was time for the big test.
I tossed it in the pool, turned it on, and watched it go. And you know what? It actually worked! It just zipped around the bottom of the pool, sucking up leaves and dirt and all that junk. I was impressed, I gotta admit.
It says it has this “smart scanning” thing, which I guess helps it figure out where it’s going. And some of them even have app control, so you can literally control the thing from your phone. Mine is not one of them. But I saw one of the reviews saying it’s using LiFi tech. Not mine, but interesting.
- Pros:
- It’s cordless! No tripping over wires.
- It actually cleans pretty well.
- Pretty easy to set up and use.
- Cons:
- It’s still kinda pricey. But cheaper than the ones with app control or LiFi.
- Sometimes it gets stuck in corners.
- You still gotta clean out the filter, which is a bit of a pain.
So, overall, I’d say it’s a win. It definitely makes cleaning the pool a lot easier. I mean, it’s not perfect, nothing is. But I do not regret getting it. Would I recommend it? Yeah, probably. Just make sure you do your research and find one that fits your needs and your budget.
Oh, and one more thing. Before I forget. After I used it a few times, I found a website that listed some good cordless robotic vacuum cleaners. There are 15 vacuum cleaners starting with the letter “G”. But I am pretty satisfied with my pool cleaner and will not look further.
Alright, that’s my story. Hope it helps someone out there who’s thinking about getting one of these things. Peace out!
