Alright, so I got this idea to make a list of movies, all about deception. Sounds cool, right? Let’s dive into how I did it.
Brainstorming and Initial Search
First, I grabbed a pen and paper – yeah, I’m old school like that – and started jotting down any movie that came to mind that had some kind of trickery or deception. I came up with a few obvious ones, like “Catch Me If You Can”.
Then, I hit up Google. I typed in something like “best movies about deception” and scrolled through the results. I found some lists on different websites, and a bunch of articles, not always great quality, but it gave me a good start. It was a messy mix, so I knew I had to organzie it somehow.
Filtering and Choosing
I started weeding out movies that didn’t quite fit. Some were more about spies, which isn’t exactly the same as deception. Others were just plain bad, according to reviews and my faulty memory. I wanted movies that really centered on characters deceiving each other, or the audience. I was after that “Aha!” moment, you know?
- I made a big list on my computer this time.
- I added a short description for each, just to remind myself what it was about.
- I checked some ratings, I use to watch IMDB for this.
Watching and Rewatching
This was the fun part. I re-watched some of my old favorites to see if they really held up. And, of course, I watched a few new ones that I’d found during my search. I took some notes about the way the deception was handled the movies I was watching. Was it clever? Was it believable? Did it make me think?
The Final List
Finally, I put together my definitive list. I tried to include a variety of movies – different genres, different time periods, different levels of “deception intensity.” It’s not perfect, and I’m sure I missed some good ones, but I’m pretty happy with it.
So, that’s how I went about creating my list of movies about deception. It was a bit of a process, but a fun one. Now, time to get my popcorn and get rewatching some of them, maybe I missed something!
