Okay, so today I tried to make this “4.00 glasses” thing. I’m not even sure what it’s supposed to be, but I saw it online and thought, “Why not?” Here’s how it went down.
First, I gathered all my stuff. I needed:
- Four identical glasses – I used some plain ones I had in the cupboard.
- Water – Just regular tap water, nothing fancy.
- A ruler – Had to dig around in my junk drawer for this one.
- A marker – Found a Sharpie that still worked, thankfully.
The Messy Part
I started by trying to measure out the water. The idea was to have each glass filled to a different level, like a staircase. I used the ruler and the Sharpie to mark the glasses at, like, 1 inch, 2 inches, 3 inches, and 4 inches. This was way harder than it looked. Getting the water level exactly right was a pain.
I spilled water, like, everywhere. Seriously, my table was soaked. I kept having to wipe it up with a towel. And my lines on the glasses? Not very straight. The Sharpie kept smudging, too.
After what felt like forever, I finally got the glasses filled to (roughly) the right levels. They looked… okay. Not as perfect as the ones I saw online, but close enough, I guess.
The “Experiment” (If You Can Call It That)
So, I lined the glasses up on the table, from shortest to tallest. Now what? I tapped each one with a spoon. Yep, they made different sounds. The one with the least water had the highest pitch, and the one with the most had the lowest. It was kind of cool, but not, like, mind-blowing.
I tried to play a simple tune, but I’m no musician. It sounded… bad. Really bad. My cat even ran out of the room. Oops.
Honestly, the whole thing was more trouble than it was worth. It was messy, took way longer than I thought, and the result was underwhelming. But hey, at least I tried something new, right? Maybe I’ll stick to things I’m actually good at next time. I dumped out all of the water, hopefully, no more mess today!
