Okay, so my Fitbit Charge 5 started acting up the other day. All I saw was the Fitbit logo flashing on the screen, and it wouldn’t do anything else. It was stuck! I tried tapping it, swiping, nothing worked. I was like, “Oh great, is this thing dead already?”
Troubleshooting Steps
So, first things first, I figured I’d try the simplest thing: a restart. I remembered reading somewhere that you gotta do that sometimes.
- I plugged the charging cable into my Fitbit.
- I made sure other end of the cable was plugged into a USB port on my computer that I knew was working.
- Then while keeping it plugged in,I pressed the button on the flat end of the charging cable, three times.
- I made sure to pause for about one second between each press. Kind of a “one Mississippi, two Mississippi” thing.
After that third press,I wait about 10 more seconds, then the Fitbit logo appeared, and a few seconds after that, it started up like normal! I pulled it off the charger, and everything was back to how it should be.
Seriously, I was so relieved! I thought I might have to contact Fitbit support or something, but it was such a simple fix. So, if your Charge 5 is just showing the flashing logo, try the restart first. It might just save you a headache!
