Fitbit Sense 2 Wireless Charging Problems? Get Solutions Here!

Okay, so I’ve been messing around with my Fitbit Sense 2, and the charging situation was bugging me. The little cable it comes with is fine, but, you know, another cable. I wanted something cleaner, more wireless-y. So I started looking into how to make it charge wirelessly. I didn’t want some big bulky pad, just… something simple.

First, I scoured the internet, forums, everything. Turns out, the Sense 2 doesn’t natively support wireless charging like some fancy phones. Bummer. It uses those little pogo pins on the back. That means a direct connection is needed.

I thought, “Okay, maybe there’s some adapter?”. More searching. I found some discussions about people trying to mod things, using parts from other chargers, even 3D-printing stuff. It all seemed… complicated. Way beyond my lazy weekend project level.

My “Failed” Experiment

I did try one thing, though. I have this old wireless charging pad for my phone. I figured, “Hey, maybe if I just position the Sense 2 just right on it, those pins might magically make contact and… something?”. Yeah, no. That didn’t work at all. The charging pad didn’t even recognize it. No surprise, really.

  • Attempt 1: Just placing the Sense 2 on the wireless charging pad.
  • Result: Epic fail. The pad didn’t even blink.

Then I remembered I had a broken, wireless charging powerbank, I took the charging coil out of it, I was going to remove the Sense 2’s back cover, and I tried to solder the charging coil to the watch’s motherboard, but I found that there was not enough space to fit in, so I gave up.

The Reality

So, my grand conclusion? You can’t really make the Fitbit Sense 2 charge wirelessly with some easy hack. At least, not that I could find or do myself. It needs that direct pin connection. I ended up just sticking with the original charger, and maybe getting a slightly nicer stand for it. Sometimes, the simple solution is, well, the only solution.

If anyone has figured out a truly wireless charging mod for the Sense 2, let me know! But for now, I’m admitting defeat. My dreams of a super-clean, cable-free charging setup are on hold.
