Okay, so Christmas is coming up, and you know what that means – family time! But sometimes, just sitting around and chatting gets a little…dull. So, I decided to find some fun games we could all play together. Nothing too complicated, just good old-fashioned fun.
Brainstorming and Gathering
First, I brainstormed some ideas. I thought about games I’d played as a kid, games my parents used to enjoy, and even some newer ones I’d seen online. I wanted a mix of stuff – some active games, some sit-down games, and maybe even a few that would get us all laughing.
I then grabbed a pen and paper and started listing everything that came to mind. Stuff like charades, card games, board games… the classics! I also did a quick search online to see if I could find any new or interesting ideas.
Testing and the Preparation
- Charades: This one’s a must-have. Always a good laugh, and everyone can get involved.
- Card Games: I decided on a simple deck of cards. Crazy Eights, Go Fish – easy to learn, fun to play.
- Pictionary: I am not sure my drawing, but I think play it will funny.
- Two Truths and a Lie: This is a great icebreaker, and you learn some surprising things about your family!
After making my choices,I tested it with my wife. It is very funny.
Then, I prepared the materials.I make sure the board game is in good condition and everyone can use it.
Playing on Christmas Day!
On Christmas Day, after dinner, I brought out the games. Everyone was a little hesitant at first (you know how families can be!), but once we got started, it was awesome.
We started with charades, and it was hilarious. My uncle trying to act out “a washing machine” was a sight to behold! Then we moved on to card games, which got pretty competitive (in a good way!). We even tried “Two Truths and a Lie,” and I learned some crazy things about my cousins that I never knew.
Overall, it was a huge success. We laughed, we joked, we bonded… it was exactly what I was hoping for. It definitely made the day more memorable and fun. Definitely going to do this again next year, maybe with some new games added to the mix!
