Alright, so I’ve been messing around with this iMessage AI assistant thing, and let me tell you, it’s been a bit of a rollercoaster. I wanted to get this thing up and running, you know, have my own little AI buddy right there in my texts.
Figuring Out the Setup
First, I had to figure out the setup. I started by checking out what kind of software I need to run it. I realized that it needs a server that can run Python and *, I don’t have that kind of server, so I used my computer to try it first. I installed Python and * on my mac and downloaded the related code from the website that shares this idea.
Trying to Get It to Work
Then came the tricky part – actually getting it to work. I opened the code and read the documentation carefully. I found that I need to configure the settings. I spent some time creating an Apple ID for the iMessage AI assistant and adding a contact on my iPhone. After that, I input my own Apple ID and password, the Apple ID and password for the iMessage AI assistant, and other configurations in the config file.
- Configuration: I configured the * file, following the documentation.
- Run the Server: After the configuration, I ran the server using the command provided in the documentation.
- Testing: I sent a message to the AI assistant from my iPhone.
Success… Kind Of
I finally got it to work! I sent a message to the AI assistant, and it replied! It’s so cool! The reply is generated by AI. But it’s not perfect. Sometimes it’s a bit slow to respond, sometimes it makes mistakes. It takes some time for it to process the messages, and the responses aren’t always super accurate. But hey, it’s still pretty cool that I got it to work at all.
Overall, this whole iMessage AI assistant experiment has been a fun project. It was definitely challenging, and I spent hours trying to get it to do what I wanted. I’m still messing around with it, trying to see what else I can get it to do. It’s not perfect, but it’s a pretty neat little tool to have. I guess we’ll see where it goes from here!
