Okay, so I had this text message show up on my phone the other day. Looked like it was related to *, or maybe that was the sender, hard to tell sometimes.
Anyway, I needed to get it over to my colleague fast. Didn’t want to retype the whole thing, you know?
Here’s what I did, step-by-step:
First, I grabbed my phone, unlocked it. Went straight to my messaging app, the one I always use for texts.
Then I had to find the actual conversation thread. Scrolled down a bit, found the one with the * message in it. Tapped on that.
Found the specific message bubble I wanted to send. Now, the tricky part sometimes is getting the options menu up. I just pressed down and held my finger right on that message bubble.
After a second or two, a little menu popped up on the screen. It had options like ‘Copy’, ‘Delete’, and thankfully, ‘Forward’.
I tapped ‘Forward’.
The app then took me to my contact list, basically asking “Who do you want to send this to?”. I started typing my colleague’s name in the search bar at the top.
His name popped up, I selected him.
The app showed the message ready to go, now in the composition window for my colleague. It looked right. I just hit the send button, usually that little paper airplane icon.
Waited a moment, saw the little ‘Sent’ or ‘Delivered’ notification under the message in the chat with my colleague. Done deal.
It’s pretty simple stuff usually, but sometimes finding that ‘Forward’ option takes an extra second depending on the phone or app. Glad it worked out easily this time.
